Life in 1998

In 1998 Eddie was 50 years old, a Leeds United Legend from his outstanding playing career at the club in the 60’s and 70’s

At the time of the air crash Eddie was Leeds United’s coach

Eddie and his wife Linda had six children Fiona, Kirsty, Natalie, Stuart, Catherine and Nick and three grandchildren.

 Eddie and Linda’s 24 year old son Stuart had followed Eddie into professional football and was playing for Celtic.

 

 

The last 25 years

In 1998 Eddie Gray remained at Leeds as Coach, the following year becoming Assistant Manager to David O’Leary.

Eddie left Leeds United in 2003 to work at BBC Radio Leeds and later Yorkshire Radio live broadcasting the commentary for Leeds United matches.

From 2013 he became Football Ambassador at Leeds United and commentates on Leeds United’s own TV and Radio Channel LUTV

Eddie and Linda have been married since the 1970’s. They enjoy a wonderful family life with their six children and seventeen grandchildren!
